The draft went just as well as any Wings fan would hope for, but the free agency moves have the faithful quite confused. Although it’s only just begun, many were hoping that Yzerman was going to dive into a signing big name early such as DeBrincat or Terasenko.
Stevie definitely addressed some needs, however, with the depth added on the back end with Justin Holl and Shayne Gostisbehere as well as in the center position with the signing of JT Compher. On paper, the team seems deeper, but do these moves make the team a playoff contender? That’s the question as of now, and we shall see how the next two weeks pan out for free agency!
